CAMPAIGNS
RETHINK (Think Green) |
Description: Five of the TG admins attended an event in Smart Village which was dedicated to the environment.
It was organised by '350'. Inspired by the 350 'go green' campaign we decided to dedicate our Sundays to the environment.
On this day, members are encouraged to become more environmentally friendly and raise awareness about the crisis the world is facing. This is by keeping use of electrical devices to a minimum, switching off light during daytime, less driving & more walking, using both sides of paper and reusing plastic.
Aim: To live by the concept 'act today to save tomorrow' and to teach the youngsters to take care of their world and that improvement begins with 'I'.
THINK IMMACULATE |
Description: Joseph Addison once wrote, "Cleanliness may be defined to be the emblem of purity of mind."
Think Immaculate is one of our weekly events which is dedicated to cleanliness; and it's usually held on Tuesdays.
On this day, members are encouraged to pick up any garbage that comes their way; they are also encouraged to go out of their way to pick it up. We ask all of the attendees each week to change their habits of littering and of ignoring litter in the streets.
Aim: To make the world a cleaner place to live in, take care of our environment and teach future generations to not litter, rather that to pick the litter up.
THINK TECHNOLOGY |
Description: A Think Generous project to help a woman in need. A widow who has lost her husband to a tragic fire along with their family business is now struggling to support herself and her three children.
Aim: Collecting old cell phones for her to send to be fixed and sold. This easy task will ensure her kids have a hot meal ready each day, can go to school and lead a normal life.
THINK OF THE HANDICAPPED |
Description: A project to help buy a wheel chair for someone who is in need.
For every 2,000 bottle caps we collected and sent to be recycled, enough money was raised for one wheel chair. TG members worked on collecting as many caps as they could.Result: Six wheelchairs were bought with the money gained from the bottle caps, and one extra wheelchair was bought through Think Generous funds.
THINK OF THE TRAGEDY |
Description: A mother had gone through the most traumatic experience ever; a nurse has struggled to provide for her daughter enough funds for her battle against cancer.
TG members were kindly asked to search their hearts and help her pay off her debts by donating any amount of money and spreading the word to their family and friends, and to whoever can help with donations.
Result: 6,000LE worth of donations.
